Valve cover nuts only need to be hand tightened. Never put a wrench on them.

LOL I thought I was the only one...
::Turn, Turn, Turn, *SNAP*::

It was a good thing it was on my to-be-junked D15.

I heard it's fairly common for them lil suckers to snap, but nothing a trip to your local Honda dealer can't help.

The book says that they're to be torqued to 7.5 ft/lbs....

Trust me, I just finished building my motor myself.. everything is torqued to exact specs.

some asshole told me the torque settings in inch/lbs and i misunderstood and went for foot lbs, something like 60 ft lbs or some ****.

anyway, of course it snapped.

heres what i did:

i had a smallish screwdriver, and when a screw breaks it almost always leaves a little knock on top, it's not usually going to break evenly, its more likley going to break along a thread. I took a hammer and the screwdriver and slowly pounded the screwdriver out by tapping the screwdriver against the knock. I think the whole ordeal took me about five minutes, i stood longer at Honda waiting for them to find me the damn bolt.
