Default [RANT] removing climate control

this screw is f*cking pissing me off!! i got the right one off, but the left (driver side) just keeps turning and not coming off! am i doing something wrong??

The retainer clip might be stripped or was over-tightened previously. You'd need to have something pushing/pulling the screw down while you turn... yes it's tricky to reach.

damn, thanks i think thats it, i was just looking at it with a flashlight and i see its loosing and then it goes back, now i gotta figure how to push it down

edit - there is no where i can push down on the screw! now i have to go to work and come back to it tommarow

heres what you do:

get a small flathead screwdriver and a philips. Stick the flathead under the screw head, and lightly apply upward pressure as you loosen with the philips screw driver.

i dont know what im doing wrong, but this isnt working, it still just loosens a little bit then goes back even with the flathead under it.. any other alternate ways?

since the retainer clip is already shot, just get a good grip on the screw w/ vice grips and yank it through.....just sheet metal 1 thread thick......had to do it under the dash before.

get nail cutters, cut the head of the screw off. Go to the store and buy a new retainer clip and screw for no more then 1.50. Problem solved. Screw will pull out with the retainer.

i'm gonna go wth the vise grip idea. I thought i had one but i guess my dad took it when my parents got divorced.. anyway got a good deal on a 2 set on ebay. one small one and a norm sized one for $13

omg! f.uck honda for putting pointless screws that's impossible to get off. I broke some of that plastic around the screw with a small vise grip and have been trying to pull the screw out , but its still there!!

sorry for bumping this thread, im just really pissed
