strange problem?

Hi guys,
I've had a little strangeness going on with my B18B1 lately. It has only happened twice in the last two weeks or so, and I've been driving it/starting it at least 4 times a day all week.
Anyhow, the problem is, that on these two ocassions, I pushed in the clutch turned the engine over...it started right up....ran for 2 or 3 seconds, and then just very "politely" died. I mean, the rpms just basically dropped and dropped till the engine turned off.
The 1st instance of this, the car would not start immediately after it died - but did start after 2 more cranks. The 2nd, the car immediately started up, and ran fine.
The engine is not knocking, the car seems to pull just as hard as usual, there doesn't seem to be an irregularities beyond these 2 or 3 seconds.
The only other info I have, is that the incidents do not seem to have anything to do with temperature (main relay kinda thing), as in both cases the interior was cool, in one case the engine was cool, the other it had just been run for about 10 minutes prior to shut off, and 3 minutes to back on at a car wash.
Any ideas? I'm thinking I'm going to grab a new cap and rotor tommorow, and some spark plugs, but those things prolly need to be done anyway - not sure if this could even possibly be part of the problem. I'm stumped.

perhaps maybe there is something funny happening with the fuel pump but only at startup? The only way I can see that happening, is if there is something wrong in the ECU or something ya know? But seeing as the swap is over a year old, and nothing has been changed in that area since, and it has run fine until now....it's just a bit odd.
I had a full tank when it happened the last time. I'll keep my eye on it, see what I can figure out.

oddly....as an update, if I rev the car up from idle, with the clutch in, car in neutral....and let off the gas "quickly" the car will fall down in RPMs as usual, but it'll drop all the way down to 500rpm or so, almost dying......and then surge back up to regular idle....and then the car idles fine again.
Earlier, the car ALMOST died on me again upon startup, but this time, I reved the car up a little, and it took a few seconds before the car had stabalized enough that I could let completely off the gas before putting it into gear and then pulling out.
It doesn't act strange at idle around town or anything? Only if I rev it a little, will it "almost die"..
Any thoughts guys?

My 450cc injectors do that... engine totally floods at start...
I'd say check your fuel filter. Might just be some crap that only gets in the way when the line is first pressurized (cold starts).
