Default tranny prob

i have a 02 civic 5spd no problems but my mom has a 01 civic 4dr automatic and everytime i drive it, it will start slipping like all of the sudden it will skip a lil then resume normal function my question is what could be wrong with it? i got her to take it to honda they say nothings wrong with it but today it did it really bad again.. are there any questions i should ask them or specific things to tell them to look for? because something is obviously wrong with it and im not letting mommy get scrwed over by honda iv brought them way too much business..

Oh my 92 the tranny used to do that, and I flushed the tranny fluid and it was a lot better, but I doubt that dirty/old ATF is the problem here since it is an 01. How many miles are on the car and how hard is it usually driven?

Hmm...check carpoint.msn.com to see if there are any recalls on that car. Honda could never make a good auto tranny. Most of their 01-02 V6 accord tranny's are very leaky too.

i think so... either that or something is up with your alternator... but since ur car is 2k2... so i don't think it's the alternator... it should be the ignition switch. but here is a recall for ur civic... i am assuming that it is a coupe... but i think the sedan are included too... here it is... i just hope no plastic stuff got into ur engine... cuz if it did.. that could be a reason why ur car don't start up right. but hopefully that is not the case...

Recall Alert: HONDA CIVIC
Owner Notification Date: 10/25/2001
Number of Units Potentially Affected: 295
Component Description: ENGINE:OTHER PARTS
NHTSA Campaign Number: 01V329000
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description of Recall Campaign:
Vehicle Description: Passenger vehicles. During the assembly process, the
air cleaner box cover may have been damaged, and a broken plastic piece could
travel into the intake chamber.

If the plastic piece lodges in the throttle body, the throttle could stick in a
partially open position. Although the driver can always stop the car by
applying additional brake force, or by taking other actions (i.e., shift into
neutral, turn off the ignition key, etc.), if the car continues to maintain
speed when the driver is expecting it to slow, a crash could occur.

Dealers will inspect the air cleaner box for damage. If damage is found, the
dealer will locate and remove the broken plastic piece, and replace the air
cleaner box lid.
Owner notification began on October 25, 2001. Owners who take their vehicles
to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the
free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009.
Also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Auto Safety
Hotline at 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
