Once you get them off with the hair dryer, you can use rubbing alcohol or bug & tar remover to get the sticky residue off.

What about the "peeling" of the vinyl? Use my hands?

When I took the pinstripes off of my car, I just used my fingernail. I didn't want to use a razor or exacto knife because of the risk of scratching my paint.

if it's on glass, you won't even need a blow dryer most likely. At least, I didn't. Previous owner had plastered a few ads on his windows, took me like 10 minutes to get it off, and some high potency glass cleaner :-D

Would alcohol damage the paint?

Nope....any time you're doing any work to any body pieces (ex: putting a lip on), Honda recommends cleaning it with alcohol, so you know its safe if they're saying to do it. And bug and tar remover is specifically designed for cleaning crap off your paint, so that is safe too.

I've used rubbing alcohol after removing badges, and it did haze the paint a bit, so be careful how hard you rub.
