A little background on my ride first. I bought my car (the Del sol) approximately 2 years ago at the time it had the original d16 with a greddy turbo kit and intercooler. The previous owner was the king of the cobb job (as I would find out a couple months later) stuff started going wrong and within a few months the car was off the road. Goodbye to the d16 . The next 2 years were spent working 50+ hours a week and driving a $400 teal 93 Geo storm (yes I said Geo storm) to save up enough scratch to one day make the SOL road worthy again. Last night was for me the culmination of my 2 plus years of hard work, dedication and humility.

There was a tension in the night, as though the air it self was trembling with anticipation of the events that were about to transpire. Heart racing I grip the wheel I've waited so long to hold. Knowing tonight is my night I inch up to the GTI. The flagger holds us dead even. The seconds seems like hours as we wait for the flicker of headlights that let us know that players are in place and the stage is finally set. From here on out adrenaline is driving.

3k and locked. Arms fly downward, tires grab at the warm asphalt below. The perfect launch. First gear is a memory. Second soon to the back of my mind into Third, exhaust now reaching a fever pitch I see headlights in my mirror. 2 long and painful years and the payoff is 1 gear away, 1 gear away from redemption, 1 gear to victory. The top of fourth comes, relief washes over me.

No money crosses hand this night only respect is taken. The payoff is sweet, every minuet of the last 2 years has been worth it. Taillights fade into the night in opposite directions. Sleep will come easy tonight.

My dad owns a very large machine shop with a very very large parking lot.It was after hours not at a track nor on a road . Lock it if you want. I thought I wrote an entertaing story with no DIRECT street racing references. I think y ou guys need to lighten up a bit.

Two years for a B18 with a homemade intake. Thats the only part I dont get.
