Default Valve Cover

Hey,

im planning on painting my valve cover, how exactly do i take it off? i know i hafta unscrew the bolts, anything else? what about the spark plugs?

u can either take the spark plugs out or leave them in. and just take the bolts out

If'n u gots a rubber mallet, it helps to give a few good lateral whacks to it after you get the nutz off of it. It makes life easier, and is a hell of a lot better for it than prying on it with a screwdriver or pry bar.

take the nuts off that hold it down, take the sparkplug boots off and you're good to go! like jafro said, just whack it a few times if it doesnt pull off.

What are you painting on it?

I just painted a friends D16 valve cover black yesterday. Turned out real good. I also have mine painted in camo, pic in signature.

If the valve cover gasket and spark plug hole o-rings are older then about a year, replace them or you'll run the risk of it leaking, puking oil all over the engine and smeling horrible when it burns off of the hot exhaust manifold.

Yea, make sure you change the gasket and get the OE Honda one!
