Default 94 civic EX camber kit...do I need it?

Hello,
I just dropped my 94 civic using Eibach's Pro-kit and KYB AGX shocks. I have 17 inch wheels, and when I took it to get aligned, the front tires showed a -1.62 degrees camber (min-max is + or - 1 degree) and the rear showed -1.54 (with min-max at -1.33 and .67 degrees)

I understood that dropping less than 1.5 inches wouldn't require a camber kit. Is the shop trying to push a sale (since they won't let me take in my own camber kit)? Is it really enough to warrant the purchase, or should I ignore it?

Thanks!

1.5 degrees of negative camber isn't all that serious. actually a small amount of negative camber is benefical to handling. I wouldn't worry about it too much right now. Unless of course you are worried about your tires wearing a little odd

First off.. it's extremly easy to put on your self!

secondly.. the closer your alignment is to perfect, the longer & more even your tires are going to last!

Your call!

i have the same suspension as you without a camber kit and the uneven wear isn't all that bad, i got new tires after the drop and it seems i will get about 2 years out of them after rotations. you dont have to get one but your tires are just gonna wear a bit faster on the insides.

Trust me on this. Just get one, even though you didn't drop it that much your tires will be affected. Now its not like its a crucial thing, as in you need to get a kit this week but the sooner you can afford one and put it on the better. I went without a camber kit after I lowered my car and within that year I had to replace my tires. Again just get one, looks like a member would even get you a good deal on one.

Thanks to all for the advice. I will be getting front and rear kits soon, but since I'm low on funds it won't happen for a month or two. My tires are brand new as well, so I'll have to do without the camber kits until it's payday.

EJcivic02: thanks for the offer. If it's still around, i'll look into it from you, but like I said, the shop won't install anything I bring to them. It seems they rather make a profit on stuff they sell. (I'm kind of stuck since I have "lifetime" alignment from them, which is void if I have anyone else play with my alignment, or if I install the camber kit myself.) I may just chuck them since their policy is crap. Thanks again.

no problem man, just shoot me a PM when you get paid and we'll make a deal if i still have it. I know what you mean about shops only installing/adjusting the camber kits that they sell and no one elses, ive got the same problem around here. Its really not that hard to install it, just make sure you take it to the alignment shop and have them adjust and align the car afterwards, hopefully there is a shop near you that'll do it.

You don't need to be in too big of a hurry.. I have -2.4 in the rear and my tires are wearing pretty good suprisingly.
