Default Tach not working with my hybrid setup

I have a 94 cx hatch. It has a 98 d16y7 engine and ex tranny with the dx intake manifold and dx computer , i have a cx distributor and a dx cluster , everything works fine except hitting the rev limiter way too quick and also the tach does not work , any reason why or suggestions on how i would fix this , btw does anyone have a p28 ecu for sale?
Thanks

ok..A you have the wrong ECU and that is why your rev limiter is freakin
also DX didnt come with tachs in the cluster..I would rec. a p28 and get rid of that p08 ecu that runs the dx.

I was going to suggest ECU as well as that is what controls the rev limit, not the tach.

Well i have a tach in the car , would it be the ecu or the distributor thats making it not work? And i knew that the ecu was causing the rev limit , i was just saying those are my woes . I need the p28 ecu for my z6 head but i think i maybe need the distributor too , not sure though , i just want my tach to work right now

Is the wiring connected correctly for your tach? Is the tach in the stock gauge cluster?

As far as i know its wired correctly , but i dunno. The kid convert the cx wiring in the engine bay to the vtec wiring , i have the plugs for tha vtec but i don't have the ecu or head in there yet , what wiring wouldneed messed with to make the tach work?
