Default near empty gas = longer crank time

gas near empty = 1-2 seconds extra crank time to start

most likely problem, fuel filter or fuel pump?

Default hmmmm

i just got to thinking, does this mean, when driving with a full tank, fuel will actually come out faster/more, which means i burn gas faster...

another thought, if i was the reset ecu with a full tank vs empty tank, will that make a difference.

You're thinking way too hard about this. My car does the same thing. It's normal.

Your fuel sending unit has to pull gas from the bottom, and push it out the top of the tank. If the level is low, it takes longer to build up the pressure to move the gas.

You'll notice with the fuel level low, and after cranking the car to start it, you can immediately shut it off, wait a minute, and it starts immediately. That's because the pressure is held in the fuel line after you shut the car off, and when you start it the second time, you don't have to wait for the pressure to build up. If you let it sit for a while, the pressure releases back into the tank.

i notice a lot of people don't wait for it to stop beebing before they crank it over.

turn to on posistion wait about 5 secs and it'll fire up quicker.

You do know, that it is hard on the pump to run when low on gas. I fill when it hits 1/4 (i haven't hit 1/8 in 3yrs.).

I test my low fuel light on a regular basis. Just to make sure it's functioning properly. :rick:
