Here is a picture of a manual transmission in a 96 civic. What is supposed to be in this hole. It is basically right underneath the distributor. It is the fill hole? Can I put tranny fluid in to this hole because my gears aren't shifting right. I suspect everytime I drive and shift gears that the oil is spurting out of this hole. The picture sucks because it is too close, but my digital camera is dead right now.
yeah i figured it's some type of bolt, but just want to double-check, it seems as though the tranny fluid is spurting out of there.(You can see the oil on the tubing)

if it looks like it is leaking oil go get a bolt and plug it
It's one of two things. Can't tell exactly from the picture, but it's either for the reverse switch, or for the bolt that keeps the shift linkage inside the tranny aligned.
