Default Type-R shiftknob

ok, I posted this in appearance/cosmetic, but it appears that not too many whore that thread so:

I have a chance to buy a Civic type-R shiftnob.
Ive seen alot of replicas, how do I know if its an original. I know that even the replcias screw on. It has the red #'s on top and is titanium. Is there anything I can look for to check if its authentic?

My friend said he got it from a junkyard, but he has a tendency to have a big mouth about things...

If he got it from a junkyard, I'd put money on the fact it's a knockoff.

Hell, the knockoffs aren't bad, I retapped one to thread onto my RX-7's shift lever.

yeah, really... it's just a dark gunmetal with small red numbers. It blends into the interior well, and I like the smallness of it... the stock knob was HUGE.
