Default Buying a '95 civic hatchback ex questions>>

I have a question that i need to figure out. I am getting ready to buy a civic and want to know if its worth 2,500. Its paint is in good shape and the interior has "newer" seats. It has professional exhaust and intake but besides modifications thats it. The engine deffinetly needs some work, it burns oil and seems to be loosing power after shifting. I think it might be the head gasket, and it is loosing its pressure and that is why it is loosing power. If anyone can tell me if this is a good buy please do. its a '95 civic Hatchback ex. 135,000 miles and new axles. He has some 2003 civic si rims on it but wants to charge me like $400, is that too much? Thanks for any help

if it has the D16Z6 engine(vtec), and a sunroof, its the si model. If your gonna do an engine swap it might not be that bad of a buy. It depends on what kind of car you want. You want a show car, I think I would try to find something a little better. If you want a track car, or a 'just to play with car' or a fast comuter car, it would be worth it. Thats my opinion.
