Default CEL Misfire

I got a check engine light and got it checked and it turned out to be a misfire on cylinder 2. I have to leave to drive like four hundred miles in a couple hours so is there anything i can do like throw a new spark plug in or something just to be safe. And also to get rid of that horrible horrible light do i just unhook the battery or what. Thanks for any advice on the situation.

Um.. you'll still have the misfire problem, so the ECU will detect it and turn on again.

If you meant how do you turn it off when you fix it, Then just pull the ECU fuse in the engine compartment, I believe it's a 7.5 fuse. Then put it back in...no need to pull the battery cable.

If the misfire is in cyl 2 then check the spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap. Probably something with those because it is just that one cylinder
