Default clicking noise when braking....

Anybody know what may be causing this? I got new pads and discs up front about 4 months ago. When i brake there is one loud click coming from up front somewhere....and it happens either right when i come to a stop or sometimes even 5-10 secs. after i've stopped. Plz help..

but it's only when he stops....if it were the axles then it would make the noise when accelerating as well, I'd pull the wheel off check the torque on your retaining screws and make sure all the hardware is in the right place and torque the wheel back on...Could you describe the noise a little bit more, does it happen when you take your foot off the pedal or is your foot still on the pedal etc?

I know I know...I was just guessing..could be early stage of a bad cv joint..when a car stops it tends to have a light jerk motion. you know what I mean..you stop and the car jerks back and then lays still...just what came to my head as I was making sevral clicking noises with my mouth and replaying what was happing with his car..lmao..

yea it doesn't click at any other time i.e. turning, accelerating, etc.

the click happens when my foot is still on the brake pedal because like i said above it usually happens the instant my car comes to a total stop. the noise is just a loud click, dont know how else to explain it.

Im@ge, sometimes it happens on the slight rollback too.

I checked the boots and they aren't leaking from what i can tell.

Do you have any suspension mods? How many miles are on the car? What kind of car is this(year, trim level?) This can help in diagnosis.

Check for rub marks on the springs. It sounds like the springs could be rubbing on the knuckle. Also check the swaybar bushing D-clips to make sure they are secure and the sway bar is not banging the bottom of the car. Check the swaybar endlinks to make sure they are not broken. Lastly, check the lower arm mounts to make sure they are tight.

Also check the caliper to make sure it's tight like mentioned above.

Those are everything I can think of.
