as far as I know, all of the D's with the spark plug holes at the rear are all interchangeable, and all the ones with them in the front are interchangeable. So, as long as the ZC has em in the front, you'd be good to go.
The only sohc ZC's I've dealt with were the old obd0 ones that had em in the rear...

Why? Are you looking for a cover that actually says "VTEC" on it?

A SOHC VTEC ZC cover will fit a 'Z6.

On a happy historical note I'm sure you don't know, the original ZC was a brown cover DOHC, then along came a black cover DOHC, then a mix of SOHC and SOHC VTEC models which tend to have, as far as I know, bare aluminum covers.
