Default damn radiator

i was going to drop off my little brother when i noticed my temp gauge rising and i t didnt stop. so i pulled over and poped the hood to see anti-freeze leaking. so i let it cool down and i pulled off the radiator cap. we bought some water and put it in the radiator. started it up and no more leaks. got home and the temp gauge had stopped rising. so i went around the block a couple times, even reving it up a little and the temp gauge stayed at about half way. so i pull into the garage and looked to see if i was leaking and i wasnt. so i took my moms car to buy some anti-freeze. so now im waiting for my moms boyfriend to get here so he can take a look. what do you guys think it is? the stuff appears to be coming out from under the radiator when it was leaking, but now its fine. any ideas?

well we need more information.. get under your car and figure out where the fluid was leaking from...
maybe a bad lower radiator hose?:dunno:

i looked and it appears that the heat sinks are beging to carode away, but only small portions and anti freeze is not coming from there, other than that it is difficult to tell

yeah, its official. i need a new radiator. my moms boyfriend knows the owner of the local honda dealership and he said he might hook me up with a discount. so looks like i have a little work to do this weekend. how much does an OEM radiator usually run?

WATER PUMP!!! my first engine blew due to a bad water pump, the pump never leaked, replaced the rad and the thermo 30 times.... engine blew took it apart.... water pump. a notorious civic problem. if your burning white smoke you need a new head gasket ASAP!!!!!!!

put the new radiator in in like 20 mins, bled the lines added an additive to prevent corrosion and used prestone anti-freeze. the temp is fine now, stays at about 1/4 bar with the heater on full. so that was the problem. i picked it up from a local NAPA auto parts. OEM and a lifetime warranty for 110
