cold air intake

Default cold air intake

i am planing on getting a cold air intake and i was wondering what year it should be. i have d16y8 intake mani, so should i get the y8 one or the 92-95 year cold air intake, since i have a 93 civic. please help, thanks

If you have a y8 intake manifold, get the one for the 6th gen civics. I could be wrong though so wait for some more responses. :thumbup:

Makes sense to me. You should be able to put on any CAI because all the CAI consists of is a filter, pipe which attaches to you intake manifold. :dunno:

yea but the pipe i bent and i didnt know if the bend was shorter or longer for the y8 then the z6.

Here is a pic of a short ram on a 95ex with my old z6 in it. IDK if this will help u see the bend you are looking for or placement of that intake manifold but here ya go.. Hope this helps ya out

I'm pretty sure the bends and everything are the same for the y8 and z6 intakes. As a matter of fact, I would not be surprised if the y8 and z6 intakes are interchangable since the engines are pretty much the same. Just give the thread the rest if the day and an expert a be here to give you a definate answer! HIH

well what im talking about is for the cold air intake is ran to a hole up front by the front bumper and i was wondering since i have a y8 is the pipe going to be longer or shorter since i dont really know where the hole is in the 96-99 civic ex, and i have a 93 civic.

even if its shorter or longer it wont matter.put the filter through the bottom and then connect it through the top, if its to long get a die grinder and shave it.if its too short go get to hose clamps and 2 rubber connectors and fill in the gap .no big deal all you need is some pvc pipe or go ask a muffler shop to bend something for you.

The hole is in the same place on your car as it is on the 6th gen (i think). Like I said, should work.
