When its on and you try to take off with the car, the car will only go as far as the fuel lines have fuel in them and then it will dye out.

I'm still wondering why she needs one :chuckles:

correct me if I'm wrong, but she doesn't have any stereo equipment (what, maybe an aftermarket cd player, if that?). Her car is like 99.9% stock....

IMO, it may just be a waste of money....

I just got my civic back today
It was taken from a parking lot on 3/10/04
Only had 30k on the speedo, and had been in the garage for two yrs before that.
I'm gonna do two things, replace and rebuild then buy the new viper alarm with the remote lcd(so i can be notified when the next ricer is taking my car to part out for his dx civic), and I will purchase the GPS unit Viper sells. Which will work anywhere and is non law enforcement connected(po-po can't turn your car off like onstar and lojack)
If I had this before hand I could have grabbed my laptop and my glock and retrived my own car. No thanks to the CHP, who showed up 5 hours after the car was gone to do a report and then it was considered "stolen" in the computer.

That directed electronics website has the infomation on vipers gps unit. you can also shut down the car if it is not in motion yourself by calling in and requesting it. It has more features too.

The second thing I could do is just make sure the insurance is payed and go park it in
south sacramento for a couple hours. It sucks, I ordered that car when I worked at honda and I even did the pre deliverly inspection on it. I am so picky about that car and I got it back dented up missing my wheels, guages, interior trim, you name it it's probably gone. Half the car is gonna have to be repainted and the bumpers are gonna have to be replaced.

the apartment i'm looking at right now though is in extremely safe area, so it might even be more of a waste of money. but better safe then sorry, right? :uhhok:

if you had a 96-98, I'd say put the cd player down on the lower din like I have it. But thats not the case with the 99-00's....

if it has a removeable face plate, just take that off. I really don't see a need for a clifford or pager-alarm system thats $300+ for you vehicle, realisticlly.

if you want an alarm, get the one that comes with the window tint for $250. Otherwise, I'd say don't waste your money.
