B18C1 To EK
Hello all...
Just some quick questions...
I am going to get a 2000 B18c1 swapped into my 00 civic ex.
How much did everyone pay for theirs?
I want to retain the p/s, a/c, and have everything function like the engine came from the manufacture. What else do I need to complete the install?
tranny, ecu, wire harness, shiftlinkage, axles/intermediate shaft, mounts from 99-00 si, and what else?
Will the oem C1 header fit into the oem pipes of the EX or do I also need to pick up something for this?
How does $3800-$4000
for the complete engine alone sound? Mechanic says its hard to come by these engines since they are fairly new. Which is true because I cannot find any 2000 b18c1 usdm motors at the moment. It will be coming from the auction.
Labor quoted to about $1000-$1500.
Any help will do...thanks

Hey, i got a b18c swap in my 97 ex and the total cost was around $4100. Shipped with install with new water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, wires, plugs, rotor and cap. To retain my ac I had to get a 94 del sol vtec ac bracket from my local honda dealership, and to have my power steering I had to go down to a hydrolic shop and have them modify the cable to work for my car.
For everything else that i needed to complete the install was a 99-00 si rear mount and a 99-00 si left side mount.
My headers matched up perfectly to my oem cat. I got my 1997 b18c from hmotorsonline.com for $3350 shipped. It was then a $550 install. $1,000-$1500 is a bit much for labor.
Good Luck with the swap

Around $500 to under 1k is the price I was looking for. I dont know why he quoted $1000-$1500 for "Misc" parts and stuff. If I paid that much, they better have everything done for me instead of myself getting custom fabrication for certain parts.
As far as getting parts from the 99-00 si, i can easily get that with little to no problems. How much was the a/c bracket off the del sol? B16 del sol right? Hydrolic shop, what exactly did they do to the power steering? Just a simple cable mod?
What about your radiator? Did you also get it from a b16 del sol?
BTW...Im also jotting some key points down so i can ask him to clairify things. Thanks
the ac bracket was around $130-$140 I believe. And yes it is off of a b16 del sol. The hydrolic shop basically used the power steering line from the b18c cut it in half and connected it to my power steering line off of the 97 ex. It cost around $5.00 and took 20 min. I used my stock radiator as well.
Hope this helps

I actually still have yet to go to the track. I am getting some new cams soon as well. I just found a guy selling ctr cams for $350. Hopefully I can get some times soon. But I can tell you this, you won`t regret it. I love the motor.
