Broken Window Motor?
My driver side window has been experiencing some difficulty and hopefully someone here can tell me what I need to do to fix it.
It goes all the way down and will start to come back up but when it approaches the very top it just starts jumping and wont actually close the entire way. You can hear it going da da da da da when it hits the top as well.
I've asked around and heard its more then likely the gear inside the door panel has broken a tooth or what not. What part do I need to order to fix this, how hard is it to get to the motor/gear and are there any special tools I need?
TIA

I'm assuming that you'll need to replace part number 1 in the pic. It's about $42 from Honda. The motor is not that badly priced either. It's about $100. I've seen them in the several hundred dollar range before. If new isn't in the budget, a bone yard may be your best bet for parts.
Here's directions on how to remove the regulator for the window. I won't lie to you, it's going to be a pain in the ass, you'll get frustrated and probably cut your hands to shit on the sheet metal. Just take your time and it should be no problem.
im having the same type of prob with my 95 civic ex. tho, it will go to the top but takes a while and when it is entirely down, there is a knock like it just dropped onto something instead of cushining itself
