I am interested purchasing a Civic with a V-tec motor. What years did they have this engine? What were the colors of these years. And what models came with the moon roof. It seems only EX's are the models that have these features. Help me out The dealers blow womens questions off.

 

92-95 Civic SI and EX's had the D16Z6 1.6l VTEC motor in them. They also had the Moonroofs. The color i can really help you there. I know 3 off the back Flaminco Black pearl and Electron Blue Pearl and Molino Red.

 

vtec isn't an engine. If you start researching, you'll find that there have been a ton of different vtec engines, differing from generation to generation and model to model.

 

Electron blue pearl was only found on the 99-00 si's... yes, a vtec engine. b16...

There are also the 99-00 Si's with the B16A2 DOHC VTEC engine (those are the Civics that come in EBP, FBP, and MRP)

The 96-00 EX's also came with a VTEC engine, I forget the engine code

I actually had a Sears mechanic tell me I didn't have VTEC b/c it didn't say it on the valve cover. Weird.
