I just put a b18c1 in my auto 94 civic DX. Very pleased with, I just wired up vtec today . If you can get a good deal on a crv block and a b16 or gsr head then go for it other wise I say just go for the B18c1.

Vtec + straight pipes = loud, and very annoying, can't wait till my exaust comes in.

Of course I'm going to say the b18c1.

Have you considered a B16A2 (99-00 Civic Si)? This engine is a real screamer, with gobs of top-end power, and it's an unbeatable value .

I vote for the B18B LS + boost.

What do you want and expect out of an engine? Are you going to go N/A or FI?

B18C1 is a good engine with lots of options. It is a good N/A engine, and also good with boost.

H22 has lots of torque. It will require different mounts. It would be a great N/A engine. For turbo you would have to build it a bit more than the B18C1 to handle it.

B18B is non-vtec. It is less money, and it handles boost very well.

ive heard an h22 in a civic is a real mess unless u kno what ur doing.

b18c1 is proably ur best bet. like wharebone said there lots of options, and its a relatively easy swap.
