Well, if you don't mind adding alot of weight dynamat works great. Does just what its supposed to do, but there are some cheaper substitutes- any roofing store should have some mat called "Peel and Seal", its supposed to be put on roofing before the shingles but it works great as sound deadener for your car.

depends on how much dedening you need, how many layers you want to run, what your system is...unless you are running a killer system it is rather pointless to dynomat your entire car.

just started to do my entire car (firewall, floor, doors, hatch, maybe roof). I went with the Raammat60 which is an awesome product. No need for a heat gun. I wouild say that the 2 rolls that i got off of Ebay weighed about 50-60lbs. Keep in mind that the 2 rolls cover 125 sq ft of space.

That's not so bad for a daily driver that wants less road noise in their car. If I had the money, I would definately consider it. I get a lot of road noise through my firewall and doors.

is there something that can be used to reduce rattles in plastic panels like the rear speaker deck in a coupe? I have all the plastic panels wegded with paper where they touch with eachother and it will still give a good rattle every now and then.

There is some spray on sound dampening that you can use on plastic panels also... but why not just use the mat?
