Default ground effect/lip protector?

Ok I dont even know what these things are called, nor do i know the purpose of them, sooo thats why im asking. Is it just to protect the lip or are they supposed to help w/ aerodynamics?? Sorry the pic isnt great, but if you've seen them before you'll know what im talking about.

They are an aerodymic aid, the do help with downforce some, but I belive in talking with a friend (Docter Cortez) who has run them on the track, they do help stability in the turns also, however if the angle is in correct the can cause some serious drag and slow your car down alot, the generally do not hurt or help brake cooling.

Wrong.
The things that are circles are SPLITTERS. Carnards are the ones higher up on the bumper.

And yes. Those are for aerodynamics.

Brake ducts are for cooling brakes.

But most people just get it for aesthetics. I bet that most people that do have them on their car, don't know what it does.

Ahh I did not click the picture however I was making more refernce to the thread above, thoose "splitters" that you have circle are basically for looks, most cars that have splitters go complety across the front of the car, thoose circled proabably have agreat placebo effect but nothing else. also with you an effective splitters those carnard are not going to work real well.

This is what I call an effective splitter.

Understood, but not neccesarily.

DTM cars use those similar type side splitters.
