its about the right price for a usdm b16a3

Well for about $500-$1000 more you could. But then he would still need a DOHC Sol shift linkage.

You can find them cheaper about $2500 but just about any obd1 hydro tranny b16a swap is going to be over $2000. Just search around for a good price.

still though I would rather pay an extra 500 bones for a b18c1 over a b16 anyday
