just because you posted in this thread does not mean that you are a noob. The thing is is we have unknowledgable people giving unknowledgable people terrible advice. We don't need that. So yes you can take of your cat, yes it is illegal, yes it may free up 1 or 2 hp.

Yeah, Who here has there Certs and AMP on working on C-17 Cargo aircraft, drag cars, fords, cheby's, Mazda. Kia's, Mitsubishis, and HONDAS.... I do..... Do you? The headers were custom made from headman, they were a gag gift from my friends I worked with at SIR, they thought it would be a funny gift since I normally work on V-6 or V-8's and this car was the 2nd Honda I ever bought and wanted to fix up instead of weld a cage in it and see how many times I can roll it over. I have allot of experience with Honda Preludes, I built one that ran 11's in 1998 when I first got into racing. If you want pics I can get them to you, I don't really see how you can classify people like you all do so much. I am in the Air force and calling certain people Noobs is consider'd discrimination. Just because of some little number below there name means they are new to everything? NO that means they are new to the forum not EVERYTHING. You may want to reconsider what you say before you say it. If you have noticed I am all for answering questions and helping people, not posting random crap about people with a low post count that you call "new'b's". I am sure you would not like it if I came into your garage and started telling you your full of shit and don't know what your talking about. Anyone can turn a wrench, but you get respect when you have been doing it for 8 years and gain the knowledge about everything from Rotary engines, to Pratt & Whitney Turbo Fan Jet engines.

Gearheaddave is right about the fact that the post count doesn't mean you arn't experienced & that someone is just new to this form.. but anyways. I experienced a backpressure issue last year with my nitrous setup & bad timing .. i didn't have ANY back pressure & it caused problems with my valves. With my experience bing in a custom pipe bending shop with my uncle. On small engines that are turbo charged such as mine, the turbo is all the back pressure needed & actually almost to much. Cat's do increase backpressure but in the case of a stock motor, even with some bolt-on's i would leave the cat there becaues you will some low end power (yes enough to be noticable). Hope this can help somone out there!
