Default Reason # infinity why I like Honda

I went to the dealership today to get some stuff checked out that I was worried about. Things like belts, hoses, exhaust. So I'm waiting in the lounge reading about the new Mustang, which by the way is not too shabby, and the service lady walks out to get me to tell me everything is done.
So we walk back to the service department and she tells me what they did. They lubed my belts cause they were a bit squeeky, checked everything else and gave it a clean bill of health. Then she told me that they wanted to change my plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and ignition coil. I was like :WTF: and asked how come. She said Honda had some kind of TSB for cars between 75K and 150K and that Honda pays to replace all the aforementioned as well as a free oil change and car wash.

DAYMMMM

Will I buy a Honda again? You damn right!!!

BTW, the total bill for today was right around $00.00
Not a bad day!!!

I wish that all dealerships were like this. Good times.

Wow, you got hoooooked up. My sister bought a prelude and the dealership didn't perform the recalls, we found out about them later on. When we took the car back to get them done, they basically said fuk you, you still have to pay for it. I thought that was pretty bullshit...

Anyway, thats a good dealership you have there. Congrats.

guys, its not just that dealer, its all honda/acura dealers. i think the service bulletin only applies to civics and integras. i could be wrong on that one. but i DO know that its not for cars older than 1995, cuz i had to twist my boss's arm to let them do it on my 95 teg for free. hehe..

Do you just drop by a dealer for that deal?

Acura of North America won't quit sending my father junk in the mail. He doesn't have to go in to be told, the bad news gets sent straight to his front door.

First it was a notice of how the CL was overrated powerwise, so they needed to install a more agressive cam to bring it up to spec. Had that installed for free under the recall.

Then, a notice about how the five speed manu-matic sucked, with a promise that the warranty has been extended to cover the transaxle longer. Ok, great.

Just recently, he got another notice that the timing belt (or chain?) tensioner was under recall. More of his time, and a free new tensioner later he's still content with his car.

Honda's really aren't what they used to be, but at least they have a good service system to take care of the problems. The parts and labour may be free, but it still wastes a lot of time.

yea kai... ive been working at acura for a few months now and i know that i will never buy a select few of them. ie late 90's-early 00s TL or CL. (with the exception of the '04 TL- which i love and wanna :boink: ) they go thru transmissions (the 5 speed auto) like no other. the mid-90s 2.5 TL is also a POS. i know MDXs had a timing belt tensioner recall fairly recently as well..
