Default idler messed up

got a aem cold air installed in my car.. couple of weeks ago, ran over a puddle of water.. now wen i start my car.. it idles between 1 and 1.5. it just keeps revin by itself.. i need some serious help.. its so annoying.

Idling that high is normal when you start the car cold. When it warms up, the revs will go down.

not that.. even wen i drive for like hours.. the idler keeps revin up by itself.. revs up to 1.5 itself then drops bak down to 1.. revs every second

Hm...how big of a puddle was it? Do you have a full CAI or a short ram?

This is just a coincidence. I doubt you'd get enough water into the motor to do any damage. You REALLY have to submerge the CAI to suck up enough to cause damage. Check the IAC (idle air control). I had this same problem with my d series motor.

k my car is dropped 2 inches all around.. do have a CAI.. wen i ran over the puddle.. the car just went dead on me.. then i started it up.. drove a little.. car kept shootin out white smoke out the exhuast.. couldnt pass like 4-5 rpm unless i kept pushing it.. felt like there was a lock on my rpm.. now my car just idles all fuked up.. still runs normal..

EEK, that almost sounds like it's on the verge of hydrolock. My last Sol did that and ended up getting totalled. I'd let the car sit for a while and dry out.

my friends was telling me to do a swap.. but i dont have that much to waste.. sed thats the only way to fix it.. but i got a shitty 1.5 anyway..

I think it's coincidence personally. You have to suck a shitload of water up inside there. That would mean the entire filter would have to be submerged. I doubt you did enough damage to it if it runs fine like you say. The IAC is an expensive sensor. I wasn't going to replace mine as I was a few months away from my swap.

doesnt white smoke mean ****ed headgasket?

anywho. a bit off topic. my idleing is ****ed up on my winter car (its a ford escort wagon)when its warm it bogs down and just about clunks out and then itll hop up and keep doing it. do you think it could be the same thing sxe??
