they've ripped all of us off enough (example: the $3 plastic clips I had to buy) to justify giving us a little break on the washers...although I must admit I am surprised

little metal friction clips in fuse box around steering wheel cost me several dollars.

screws for dash i had to pick out one by one from a screen, that cost me a few dollars.

back on topic....do you need to change that washer regularly? maybe thats a cause of my oil leaking recently. I haven't changed that washer ever... and i've had the car for 50k

is there such thing as over tightening your oil filter to cause it to leak?" im not talking like using a screw... hand tighten (on the subject of oil leaking)

change the washer every oil change if possible.

ive gone about 5 and now its getting leaky

over tighten that oil filtre and itll be a ***** to get it off...plus if you miss align the gasket it will maybe leak or introduce air to the lube system.

a BITCH to get off

The only time I changed my washer was when I needed the bolt for something else. I never touched the washer and it was fine. I've been through at least 15 oil changes
