Default Traction Issue

i have a b18 in my EX and I seem to have a issue with my traction launching and in between gears. I wrapped my 14inch steelies in Azenis but for some reason I still spin tires like crazy going into 2nd gear. I dont know if this is a good thing or bad thing, but im kind of use to cherping tires going to 2nd before my swap and now all i get is a spinn out. only problem that I know about is that my passenger side axle has a torn CV booth but i dont know if that would affect anything.

Well if you're spinning your tires your CV is doing exactly what it's supposed to do: transmit power from the transmission to the wheels. I guess one question to ask is whether you have any suspension mods to help stiffen the drive wheels, but honestly I think that that's kind of what happens when you put a stronger motor in your car.

I kinda agree. Putting a b18 in your civic with 14" steelies is pretty much asking for spinning tires. Bet if you had maybe 16's they wouldn't spin as bad, but then you would get to where you're going quite as fast either. :dunno:

well got 15 inch roto slips for the track. I looking for some good grip tires to put on them for the track now. I want somthing wit kid of a low profile look.
But yea im going with the more powerful engine on smaller wheels than suppose to be. Plus is winter down here and very cold so that adds to it.

did you lower your car and not add a camber kit... my guess (and its just a guess) is that not enough tire meat is touching the ground.. maybe from bad lowering job... id check out the camber and make it so the tire is nice and flat on the ground.. then at the track you can lower tire pressure a little.. doesn't make a HUGE differance on tires like these but may help a little.. if all else fails get drag radials.. they WILL (providing suspension is correct) solve your issues.. you are not making enough power to have traction issues with those

On a side note you probably want to look at getting that CV boot replaced. It keeps the grease in and the dirt out of the joint, so that'll save you some unneeded wear and tear on the joint.

195mm azeni are still plenty sticky  I think oc got it... if the tires aren't flat to the ground, they'll spin real easily.
