well after much searching i found that the Super Medalion Racing Spec is not that bad, it's a full exahust not just a cat-back like many sites say, goes for 520-570, and i love that stlye canister. one problem i did find is that it kinda sticks out far, like 3 inches from the bumber

On another note, I've never been able to take a good sound file of my exhaust... it always captures only certain frequencies and sounds all treble, all mid, or all bass depending on the method I try to record it. Sucks!
The one thing I haven't tried yet is getting a real good-quality mic out there attached to some recorder I would then plug into the computer. Is this what you guys do?
lol, if you want to know just how much a turbo quiets your car down, before I went turbo, I had the stock cat and an aftermarket muffler on it. Sounded nice and deep, but it was a bit loud on the freeway, loud enough that it was hard to carry on a conversation. Threw the turboon, and itw as the same at idle, but anything higher than that, and the exhaust was almost silent.
Before I started ripping my engine out for the rebuild, I made up a new exhaust that uses only some bent piping, and 2 glass packs. That was WAY more quiet than the old setup. I'll have pictures of verything when the engine is back in.
If you really want something decent, go buy whatever muffler you want, keep the stock cat in there, and take it to a muffler shop and have them put in whatever size piping you want, all mandrel bent, and make sure you have a resonator in there, or it will be buzzy. Total cost should be well under 300. Looking more at about 250 or so for something better than an aftermarket system premade for the car.

stick on? are you ****in kidding me? those are aerogear boxster vents. not cheap to put in or purchase. your just ignorant.
and surprisingly, i just used my cell phone. i had the top off and just put it down next to me, and drove. and it worked great. but then getting it onto the computer is whats hard because i have a really shitty mic.
