Default Need new AC compressor - advice?

The AC compressor for my 98 Civic DX has died. I checked around on the net and it looks like $300-$350 for a new one. Would it be smart to look for a compressor in a junkyard? Maybe if I could find a car that wasn't in any kind of frontal collision I could get a bargain. One would think this should be easy to find. Does anybody have any idea how much one would cost? Are there any additional AC parts I should consider taking as well from the donor car? What other years might be compatible? Thanks in advance.

alot of people on here have taken their AC systems out. look around for people trying to get rid of it all.

Yes I would recommend that suggestion first. If no luck there, then try the junkyards.

Junkyard is your best bet, don't waste your money for a new one.
