Default Frustration!

So, last friday, the engine in my hatch decided to selfdestruct. I figured I could grab another d16z6 from a junkyard for about 300. So the guy tells me 475 without a dizzy...
So, knowing as many local guys as I do, I started calling, posting on local boards, etc, and NOTHING! I had a week of vacationt his week, and HAD to get an engine in to get it running for work next week. PLus my birthday is this saturday, and there is no way in hell I'm swapping on my birthday.
So, I bit the bullet, and spent a ton on the one at the yard... As I'm dropping the engine in, my buddy calls me and says he's got a d16y8 engine and tranny for 200 bucks. :madfawk: WTF!!! Why didn't he have it yesterday?!?!?!?!
Then as I start the engine up later that day, another friend calls me, and says he's got a d16z6 with tranny for 350.
Needless to say, I'm picking up the y8 as a spare, or to resell, and I'll throw that tranny in the sol. And I offered the guy 200 for the z6 and tranny, and he said that's cool. So all of a sudden, I have cheap engines coming out my ears, and paid out the ass for another!

Now the hatch is running great, recived a 10lb flywheel and act clutch at the same time, and is the best winter beater I've ever had.
Car- $700
y8 tranny- $100 and a used header
d16z6- $475
all other parts were hand me downs from the sol.

Oh, and I just got a fiber images hood! TRaded the guy my stock one, a set of steelies, and 80 bucks! it has one tiny chip in the clear coat, but for that price, who gives a fawk?

Ok, enough venting. :fawk:

So, you're complaining that you keep getting cheap motors?

Thats cool that you got it all up and running. Maybe you can just send me some of the spares

Complainging that I paid out the ass for the one that ended up in my car before the cheap ones popped up. AT least I can use the others later, or resell em...
