Default D16Y8 Bore Help

Ok, I have a question for anyone who is a machinest or anyone who has done it on a D16Y8 block, I was wondering what is the biggest bore and the best stroke to go with?
I want a big bore yet keep it a daily driver, so bascially I don't want my engine to blow after 3 runs red light to red light.

Thanks

Oh and for the machinests the stock bore and strock is 75 x 90mm

the bore alone is 2.952 inches

Thanks please help me out i need some specs, hanks agian

biggest bore on stock cylinders? I would go no more than .5 over, which incidently is the largest overbore piston size Honda offers @ 75.5mm...

Sleeved, 80mm is the largest I have seen.

Stock stroke is long as it is; no need to disturb that.

Best stroke to go with? Are you planning on machining a custom crank or something? :eh:

I am basically taking it and having it race ready without the unreliablity issues.. I am trying to prove a point to some guys near my area who say a DOHC engine swap is the only thing good to do on a Civic, thay laugh at me about my D16Y8 but I am going to prove those punks wrong when my little SOHC blows there DOHC out of the water...

Thanks Builthatch i will use your specs and see what the machinest says!

Thanks

also I am not using honda pistons I am getting some custom forged from topfuel 100... EXPENSIVE MOFO'S TOO

huh? what are you talking about...?

What is "topfuel 100"? Whatever that is, why spend an unusually high amount of money for something you can get cheaper and @ the best quality from proven manufacturers like Wiseco?

sleeved, 3mm over is the biggest bore i'd feel comfortable with on a daily driver. Maybe 3.5 if youre not planning on going FI or n2o. As for pistons, there are a number of reputable companies with reasonable prices. Definitely do a lot of research before you jump on whatever product just grabs your attention.
