Default side molding question

any body have a writeup about shaving side moldings. my roommate removed his moldings on his 99 hatch and needs to fill the holes. i searched the do it yourselfs, but couldn't really find anything. any help would be greatly appreciated.

find a friend that can weld...grind down to bear metal, weld in a metal strip...grind welds down, apply thin layer of bondo to fill slight unlevelness....if you try to fill the whole thing with bondo it will eventually crack and start popping out in little chunks.

thanks man. he's had them removed for about a month and a half and i'm tired of looking at the holes. too beautiful of a car to have all those holes in the door. so i told him were gonna find out how to get this done and finish it soon.

are you just trying to get rid of the holes? or the whole gap? cuz those are 2 very different things
