Peformance meter

hey im kinda a n00b at all this car stuff but im learning i have a 97 civic HX Vtec its not completely stock . But i want to get a peformance meter for my car and i was wondering what brand it the best or are they just a completely bad idea??

What? Like a G-tech or something? IMO a waste of money, go to the track for times and on a dyno for hp #'s.
