Default 95 civic dx header question...

Do the 95 dx civic come with a separate header from cat? or are they combined? my friend just got a dx and was wondering if they put a different exhaust system in it?? Let me know.. Also if you put a different header and its not performance will that increase any horse power or just maybe the sound a little?

DX does not have the cat as part of the header.

What do you mean about swapping the header?

Any header that will work on an ex/si (5th gen) will work on a dx. You won't notice anything down low, but top end, you MIGHT feel a little more pull. Maybe 1-2hp....

I don't think an ex/si header will work on an dx/lx. I think I've tried it and something didn't fit right...

The DX/LX is a D15, the EX/Si is a D16 (as you well know).

I have both in my garage. I'll try to remember to compare them tomorrow.

Uh, there will be a big power difference going from a close coupled cat to a full length header.

on the 99-00 DX...the cat is a part of the exhaust manifold....i know because....i have a dx....and as far as putting an EX, LX, or other full length header on a DX...if it does fit...where do you put the CLOSED COUPLED CAT?

You replace the cat with a standard one.

Will th exhaust piping have to be modified? I know when I bought both my cat-back exhasut...it came with an extra peice that goes between the exhaught mani and resignator....does the standard cat just fit in there?

The exhaust piping will most likely have to be shortened.
