I saw a few people asking about this. What is it and what does it consist of? Thanks in advance..

I believe putting a y8 or z6 head on a d16-non vtec.

Yup. Pretty much it just refers to swapping a SOHC VTEC head on a SOHC non-VTEC motor

Depends what you mean by much, but it adds a significant amount of horsepower depending on the exact set up. In the 20hp range, but I'm not exactly sure on the numbers.

And, of course it adds vtec, that's a main reason for doing the swap. VTEC is in the head of a motor. So if you put a VTEC head on, presto - you have vtec.

There are over a dozen different ways to build a mini-me. There are no definate numbers.

what does the swap consist of head and vtec silinoid (sp) cam gear?

The complete head, as in all of it. That includes the cam, cam gear, cam caps, cam cap bolts, rocker arms, valves, valve springs, VTEC solenoid, etc, etc. When you take the head off the motor, that all comes off in one piece.

hmmm i would be interested in doing this but i will have to learn more about it i wonder what would be the best setup to put on my 95 civic coupe dx non vtec.i think its the 1.5 any recommendations?
