b18 swap help
sup everyone. over the weekend, i swapped out my d15 for a b18. everything went really smooth, but we cant seem to get it to turn over, so i was hoping someone might be able to help me out. first of all, this is my first swap, but my buddy who helped me a lot is a pro, so i know everything is hooked up right. we're getting fuel, spark, and obviously air. we checked the firing order (1342) and everything is good. nothing happens at all when we turn the key, so we cranked it a few times by hand and then jumped it at the starter. it sputters and sputters and wants to turn over, but it just doesn't (damn!!! its so close to doing it too). also, we're advancing and retarding the timing as we try to crank it in very small increments. whatever the problem is, it seems to be minor, like we're forgetting one really small thing. anyway, if anyone has an idea, let me know. its starting tonight NO MATTER WHAT! thanks!
car is a '92 civic lx. its all obd1. also, i just talked to my bud, he thinks its the alarm (clifford). everything is connected, but the alarm isn't functioning. i cant turn it to valet mode or arm/disarm it. but we are getting fuel which means it has to be functioning somewhat since it kills the fuel supply. do i need to reset it or something?
you need to try and diable it all together....it might be that the alarm wsa diabled and during the swap you may have armed it again by disconnecting the battery....maybe...maybe not but it's an idea......
BTW ...what ecu are you running??
