Honestly, I don't know what Vtec sounds like.. I've heard the high pitch scream from my friends RSX and an SI, but I remember hearing this high pitched noise coming down the road one day and my friend was like "Oh dAtZ dAt TyTe vTek yo!" and it was a older model dodge neon...

I HAVE A D16Z6 AND WHEN THE VTECH HITS AT 55OO RPM MY CAR JERKS A LITLLE AND GLIDES SMOOTHLEY FOWARD I GUESS SOME ENGINES WORK DIFFERENT THAN OTHERS ALL I GOT IS A SPOON INTAKE AND GREDDY EXHAUST. My engine seems underpowered to be supposedly 125hp. Its an AT so i know its not gonna be as great as a 5 speed. My 96 accord lx was faster than this and it was heavier with no vtec but about the same hp rating.
The 1996 Accord Non-Vtec had 130 hp with 139 ft-lbs of torque.....
The accord would have a much better, more powerful feel to it. Torque makes a BIG difference....
