but i didn't step on the brakes
i have tein ss coilover, i just had it on for like 6 months.
its very hard to describe the sound, its a squeeking noise, i first thought it was the alternator belt that was making that noise, cuz it winter, it makes a weird noise, but i just replaced the alternator, and the belt sound its still there. but i am pretty sure the sound its from the front driver side, the squeeking doesn't goes on constantly, it goes on for awhile then it will stop.
please help, thx
would valve timing make this sound, and u can actually hear it inside the car?
thx
i know my brakes squeeks when i applied on it, which i took it out and sanded abit and the pads are not rubbing anything. any hints?
thx

you check the brake pad shims, it may be time for new pads.
and is the nice coming from the rotating assembly?
when i had metal on metal grinding noises, it was my hub, and wheel bearing....

hub = the metal thing your rotors mount on to, and the thing that has the wheel studs stucking out of.
wheel bearing = inside the hub.
screaching noise = bearing rubbing hub.
take wheel off.
spin the hub by hand, and see how smoothly it turns, and listen for scratching noises.
mine wouldn't make any noise at first, but when i get to my destination i could hear it.
so if i drove it and did the test, i'd fail, but if just got up jacked the car up and did the test, i'd pass.
