If he means rear quarter as in where the gas hole is, (or where the antenna is on the other side) then yes, that is part of the frame. It is on most cars.
Best picture I could find, but there you can see it. Whereas the front fenders are bolted to the frame, the rear quarter panels are the frame. Not sure why the pic shows a break in the bottom of the door frame, because there really isn't one there. Same goes with the break in the rollbar arch...nonexistant.
i know this is an old thread but it's better than starting a new one. when ever you get out of the sol do you get shocked when you close the door? i use the top corner to close it, right by the window and it seems like the harder i drive the larger the shock. is there something wrong or is that just with all the sols?

Well the Sol, as well as just about every other car on the road, uses its frame to ground itself, but I can't imagine a shock being able to get to you through the paint and then through the rubber in your shoes to the ground...(are you wearing shoes?)
last time i checked i was, just today my lazy self drove about 150 yards to get the mail and i floored it there and back and i got the crap shocked out of me (with my shoes).
