the alfa was a lot easier to work on than my civic though, less stuff in there.

Yeah, get under the hood of a '69 GTO. It's a huge, empty hole that they just dropped a big block Chevy in. The engine looks so damn lonely in those old cars, just the way I like it.

Absolutely true. This friend of our family kept his '64 Satellite in our yard for a while, and once I popped the hood out of curiosty...holy moly, it ahd the original 383 and there was STILL a chasm of space in there. You could almost jump in there and put up a tent.

Mine didn't come with A/C ... and installing it is a serious bitch. Besides, I don't mind the ~40 lb reduction, plus I can always just take the top off.

Fugi, I remember you had a link to those Miata pics. I'd like to see them again. I really do dig Miatas. Like I said, I almost picked one up but couldn't afford it at the time, and figured I can make a faster car out of a Honda with a simple engine swap that would be direct bolt on anyway.

head gasket on mattie hadnt been changed in 30 years, so thats what i did to get it free, put one foot on each inner fender wall and tugged at the head till it came loose. i was tired that day.



ive cleaned it up a lot since then.
