Default exhaust mani......

do you have to unscrew the pipe after cat going to exhaust in order to get the manifold out? i unscrewed nuts below cat converter and the ones holding exhaust manifold on top.. its loose but still wont come out. do i just force it or do i have to unscrew the screws also holding the pipe after converter?

the way I do it on stock manifolds is:

- jack up the car high enough to where you think you can pull the header out from under it and put it on stands
- remove the plastic splash guard that is under the rad & condensor
- remove all header nuts on the head and that connect to the rest of the exhaust (pre-cat if an EX)
- remove the 2 12mm nuts on the hanger near the collector (the back end of the header under the car)
- remove the bolt for the support brace that goes into the front of the block (17mm I think)
- unplug O2 sensor(s) (EX: 1 in header | LX: 2 in header) and mark them so you know which plugs where when you go to reinstall them
- pull the header toward the front of the car and drop it down under the car (kinda a tight fit at times)
- pull it out from under the car from the front
- yer done!
