ok i KNOW this is a very n00b question and i should know the answer but what is an ek civic and what is an eg civic? are they just 5th and 6th generations? its a noob question but nobody around where i live calls it that

eg and ek are the chassis designations for non north american 5 and 6 gen civics

Which are listed on the VIN numbers of the different year cars.

Not ALL 5th gen civics are EGs (example: EX sedan = EH8)

Search would do you well.

the reason peeps use EG and EK (EGsedan, EKcoupe, etc) is because the HBs are the base models in the line-up and dont run into the next generation (EJ 92-00, 5th and 6th gen coupes minus the 99-00si)
