Default Did a Greddy 19T turbo install on a '97 LX yesterday

Myself, SleeperCivicEX and a guy from the Turbo D16 forum (John) installed the new 19T kit with Emanage on John's '97 LX Sedan. Install went very smoothly - only had 1 small oil leak when we finished, but fixed that very quickly. That was our only problem. John bought the kit from Sleeper and I and we installed it for no charge... well... beer and Subway.

Here's some pics:

Had to Dremel out the hole so the new aluminum piping wouldn't rub...

Oil feed line provided in the kit with the other hardware...

Oil return line..

RC 310 injectors with the new clips I wired up...

Money shot...

Ahhhhh... another satisfied customer. :goodjob:

His intercooler (Type 31) is on B/O from Greddy so...
He also has an HKS SS BOV, but waiting on the flange.

He drove 90 miles to my house to do the install and because it was an LX (kit is made for the EX) and the muffler shop was closed yesterday, he had to drive all the way back on open downpipe :chuckles:

Made it home just fine though.

Just thought I'd share.
Sleeper and I sell this kit for $$$ (PM for price). Kit comes with Emanage, Aluminum piping, all necessary hardware and oil lines, as well as the RC 310 injectors with the clips.

Enjoy!

:edit:
Forgot to mention that the only major problem we ran into was that the LX has both O2 sensors in the exhaust manifold because the cat is built into the exhaust mani. He will either have a test pipe made with an O2 bung or get an EX cat to put the secondary O2 in.

AND, I had to extend the wiring for the primary O2 sensor just so it had some slack. Simple stuff really.

You forgot to mention that the E-Manage has a base fuel map straight from Greddy, but still needs to be tuned! Also, it will work on non-VTEC motors, a jumper on the E-Manage just needs to be changed.

Well, you are afterall better at the Greddy knowledge than I. h:

Yes, this was a D16Y7 motor with a D16Y8 intake manifold too, btw.

Cut the two wires and solder the new clip on. If you get the kit, it comes with very nice butt connectors and heat shrink straight from RC.

Most aftermarket injectors require an OBD1 connector/clip. Because this was an OBD2 car, the OEM injector clips wouldn't connect to the RCs. RC supplies the correct clips for their injectors in this kit.

Just a few questions about the install...

How long did it take?

For the Oil lines, did you weld it, or just use the fittings provided?

How hard was the E-Manage to install?

Took about 12 hours total, but we went to lunch and weren't rushing at all.

Oil lines provided had fittings already on the line so it was just plug and play.

Emanage was simple because John had already labeled all of the wires at his house and I just inserted them onto the correct ECU pin wire according to his labels. The kit came with a diagram.

There were about 12 - 15 wires that had to be added to the ECU harness.
