The way I find vaccum leaks is by using a propane or map gas torch. DO NOT LIGHT IT!!!! I just turn it on so it's letting a light flow of gas out, and you trace around every vaccum line and every joint on the intake sytem (between the TB and intake manifold, between the intake manifold and the head, etc) If it starts to rev up anywhere, you've found a leak.

if your engine does that it means you iacv is bad and needs to be replaced. they're expensive from the dealer, try checking ebay if there is one. cause when mine did that i had to buy a new one and got it off ebay for way cheaper than the dealer.
