don't paint it, you'll ruin it's cooling properties. Painting it will add a layer of insulation to it; therefore, adding that much more between your IC and the air running inside of it.

Painting an IC is stupid, it reduces the ability of the IC to cool the air.

It's not really going to be enough to affect anything, about the same as people putting wire mesh in front of the IC.

I've seen people do it for the stealth look so you can't see it, but if you're driving beside someone they won't be able to tell.

People that know what to look for will see it, no matter if it's painted black or left normal. It really doesn't matter. I've had people drive past my car and turn around to look at the front then talk to their "buddy" in the passengers seat, only to have them stare at the front of the car, as well. Black paint is a styling option ONLY.

My buddy added that wire mesh and lost tenths off of his 1/4 mile time because of it. It is noticable when you're actually measuring it.

Yes, air restriction to the FMIC will play a big part in A/F supply and speed. I forgot to mention that.:thumbup:
