arent the red reflectors on the red part of the tails. im painting the clear part

 

I got pulled over twice and had blue front turn signals, no county tax decal, no front liscense plate, and no safety inspection sticker....they never mentioned anything about it...went in for safety inspection a week later, failed for blue turns...popped em back in across the street, drove back, showed the guy, and got my sticker..

 

those red/white tails still have reflectors in them. jdm tails also have reflectors towards teh rear, but not on the side

 

so u think it would be fine to paint the clear section amber

 

Just get the red/clears and run amber turn signal blubs.
Personally you shouldn't have problems as newer cars have red/clear tail lights with amber blubs. I didn't have problems with my red/clear tails but I'm in Canada so our laws are different.

there is no "top" reflector. you want the lights to look like the 96-98 lights, but upsidedown right? you can all clear lights, and paint the top half amber, and the bottom half red. you wont get a ticket for that (pretty much anywhere u go). you could try painting ur stock ones too (like how people make their own vision corners).

 

Yeah man Im in Queens N.Y. and Cops down here are kinda dicks . And in N.J ohh man ! Can Cops be a f**cking HARD ON ! I hear you man . I don't really think they will mess with you . Just buy a pair of red clear on ebay and spray the clear Amber and you should be good to go ! and if you do not wanna spray get amber bulbs and then your in the same position as spray the only thing is there clear if your not turning lol . But I like clear red !
